NOVA NOTA DE €50 ENTRA HOJE EM CIRCULAÇÃO

  • A nova nota com elementos de segurança atualizados começa hoje a circular.
  • O retrato de Europa e o número esmeralda tornam a nova nota mais difícil de falsificar.
  • Um inquérito demonstra que o numerário continua a ser o meio de pagamento preferido nos pontos de venda.

O Banco Central Europeu (BCE) anunciou que a nova nota de €50 – a quarta das notas de euro da série “Europa” a ser introduzida – entra hoje em circulação.

Como mais um passo no sentido de notas de euro ainda mais difíceis de falsificar, os elementos de segurança da nova nota incluem uma janela com retrato, na parte superior da banda holográfica, que se torna transparente quando observada contra a luz. A janela revela um retrato de Europa, uma figura mitológica grega, visível na frente e no verso da nota. O mesmo retrato surge também na marca de água. Quando se inclina a nota, o número esmeralda apresenta um efeito luminoso de movimento ascendente e descendente. A nota inclui igualmente partes impressas em relevo para cegos e amblíopes.

“Mesmo na presente era digital, o numerário continua a ser essencial na nossa economia,” afirmou Mario Draghi, Presidente do BCE. “Os resultados, a publicar em breve, de um inquérito sobre a utilização de numerário conduzido em nome do BCE demonstram que mais de três quartos de todos os pagamentos em pontos de venda na área do euro são efetuados em numerário, o que, em termos de valores de transação, corresponde a ligeiramente mais de metade.”

Os resultados completos do inquérito serão disponibilizados no verão do corrente ano.

De entre as notas de euro, €50 é a denominação mais utilizada. Os mais de 9 mil milhões de notas de €50 a circular representam 46% de todas as notas de euro em circulação. As notas de €50 da primeira série mantêm o curso legal, continuando a circular a par das novas notas, e serão retiradas de circulação gradualmente.

As novas notas de €100 e €200 serão introduzidas no início de 2019.

Observações:

O inquérito baseia-se no registo diário efetuado por 65 281 inquiridos, entre outubro de 2015 e junho de 2016. Foi solicitado aos inquiridos que registassem todos os pagamentos efetuados em pontos de venda, como, por exemplo, supermercados, estabelecimentos de venda de bens duráveis, cafés, restaurantes e mercados de rua. O inquérito do BCE abrangeu 17 países. Os bancos centrais nacionais da Alemanha e dos Países Baixos procederam a estudos a nível nacional com uma metodologia semelhante.

LETTER OF INTENT

7. We understand that stocks of ECB materials for distribution are limited. We will inform the ECB of the number of copies distributed, the means of distribution as well as the target groups.
On behalf of the company/institution mentioned above, we declare that we will refrain from using any materials either in printed or electronic form provided by the ECB until our membership of the Partnership Programme has been confirmed.
We will be liable for any damages incurred by the ECB should we not act in accordance with this Letter of Intent. We also understand that the ECB reserves the right to terminate our membership at any time.
